Scope of Services:
Paris Projects provided the complete building and site design coordination, contractor pre-qualifications, bidding, contracting, construction management and project close out. This site was not located near any major towns so finding qualified contractors was time consuming.
We had to demolish an existing Outlet Mall, including buildings and a maze of underground utilities. Again, the existing soil and geotechnical conditions were very challenging. Underground caves were present throughout the region called “carske” geology. We had to try to grout the openings of the caves to stop the infill. When the condition occurred under a building, we had to add rebar at concrete slabs to bridge the caves.
Very dense rock and very poor soil conditions where very challenging and again we set up a rock crushing plant on site to generate our own paving and building pad stone versus hauling it in from an offsite quarry. Rock condition dramatically affected the site schedule and the progress that could be anticipated. We had to micro-manage numerous portions of the site to sequence four different phases of the buildings
Major road widening and two new traffic signals where constructed and had to be complete before the first major tenant opened.
Our major feat on this project was managing the project schedule with very difficult site conditions
